Blood Piano

Blood Piano- A new piece by Imogene Newland Blood Piano explores themes of struggle and desire in the body/piano relation. Drawing on the topics of gender and abjection, the work comments on the experience of otherness through the framework of physical affirmation. Performers were Sheena Kelly and Mads Anderson.

SOMA

Soma- woman=music=desire is.....a loss/absence of the self, a socially-constructed narcissism, erotic mimetic repetitions, anti-virtuosic pleasures, feminisations and fragmented automatons, seductive trangsression and soma in imminent danger of failure.

Directed by Imogene Newland
First performed as part of the Sonorities Festival of Contemporary Music 2010 at Queens University Belfast. Soma is being recreated for film at the Crescent Arts Centre Belfast July 2011- Film footage release August 2011.

Commissioned by the Crescent Arts Centre Belfast, Have we met? Is a new dance theatre piece choreographed and performed by Adib Ma'ani-Hessari and Sheena Kelly at the Citydance Festival 2010. Two paths, one journey and a few collisions. Music by Thomas Leeb and Nitin Sawhney.

BBC 2 Culture Club

BBC Northern Irelands new children’s dance show Culture Club explored 4 different cultures Indian, Chinese, Portuguese and African through dance, food and much more.
